Miss Haiti 2016 is on!

t is an exciting year that is starting for pageant in Haiti!  On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the Royal Oasis Hotel in Pétion-Ville, Miss Haiti Organization received the media in order to launch the 2016 edition of Miss Haiti.

Even though the conference started with an hour late, it was worth the wait!  This year, the casting for Miss Haiti will be done in 4 major cities in Haiti:  Port-au-Prince, Cap-Haitian, Cayes and Jacmel.  Each of them will be held on a specific date for young women aged between 18 and 26, who have graduated from high school, never been married, with no kids and in possession of a valid passport.

These castings are also open to Haitian or Haitian descent women living outside of Haiti who can apply by email.

The biggest announcement in this press conference was with no doubt the acquisition of Miss Haiti Universe franchise!   This announcement was a big one!  Magalie Febles who acquired the Miss Haiti Universe since 2010 and was much criticized for her way of organizing and handling the pageant in Haiti,   is no longer in charge.

Chris Puesan and Anedie Azael Doura, former Miss Haiti Universe, are now the heads of a big family!  Knowing that Miss Universe and Miss World are the most important pageants in the world, you can understand that the pressure to make a difference from now on is greater than ever!

Haiti has no sash factor.  In more than 50 years of on and off participations, only 3 of our contestants in these two pageants have be n placed.  Our last placement for both pageants happened in 1975! The need to find the right girls, train them and have them ready to bring results is not a wish!  It’s a must!

Therefore, if you have the qualifications to represent us this year, do not hold back!  Apply!
