It’s a first chapter that ended in fantastic finale in Pétion-Ville (Haiti) on Saturday, August 27 at the Royal Oasis by occidentals Hotel. Among 11 finalists, Raquel Pelissier was crowned Miss Universe Haiti 2016 and Cassandre Joseph, Miss Haiti International 2016.
Raquel Pelissier is a 5’11'' tall model with a degree in Optometry and a Master in Scientific Research from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She is an aerial dancer who is fluent in Haitian creole, French, English and Spanish. Seen as one of the favorites since the beginning, the new Miss Universe Haiti won also the “Miss Popular” award. Before living in January 2017 for the Philippines for Miss Universe 2016, Raquel Pelissier will first compete in Bolivia as Reina Hispanoamericana Haiti 2016.
Cassandre Joseph is a doctor, a translator and a model who were not competing in her first pageant. Ms. International World Haiti 2015 and 1RU Miss Florida US, Cassandre Joseph will now have to prove what she is capable of in Japan at the finale of Miss International 2016 next November.
At the coronation evening, Armelle Rose Williams was placed 1 RU, Danoura Bien-Aimé 2RU and Pierrie Ganaelle Toussaint 3RU.
"Miss Congeniality" award went to Edith Elbrena and "Miss Photogenic" to Dorothy Jean.
