While they are getting prepared for “Mrs, Miss and Miss Teen International 2017” set for next August in West Virginia, Mrs and Miss Haiti Intl 2017 are doing their best to have an impact upon the lives of young ones.
This past weekend, both ladies reunited in Florida for the 5th annual Unmasked event presented by Word and Action for National Child Abuse Prevention month.
“I learned I can continue to be a voice for the voiceless, said Esther Landé, Miss Haiti Intl 2017. I can help the less privileged people in my community. As a volunteerism Advocate I think it's important to support any cause. The link between them is to help and make a difference in our brothers and sisters lives. It happened that we were attending this event to support our voiceless abused men and women in our communities who sometimes feel alone and hopeless.”
Created in 2016, Word and Action is a nonprofit organization that aims to prevent and decrease the occurrence of child sexual abuse in the community. Because this subject so taboo among Haitians, the presence of these ladies ofHaiti International pageants spoke volume.
“It was necessary for me to attend the Unmasked event, said Kenicha Narcisse, Mrs Haiti Intl 2017, because being a survivor of Child Physical and Verbal Abuse it's never ok for someone to get abused Physically, Emotionally, Verbally and Sexually. Though Word and Action stands for Child Sexual Abuse I had to be there to support because the Haitian community does not speak about abuse much. and for that organization to be organized by my Haitian people I had to go and salute them for taking the stand and being a voice for my brothers and sisters.”
